It’s football season! Game days are the best days! Having married a former football player and lifelong fan, and raising two boys who grew up loving the game, football has become part of my everyday world.
During our kids' high school years, Friday nights under the lights were the highlight of the week. Now, those memories have grown into new traditions—like the Downtown Getdowns, which have evolved into Friday Night Block Parties in College Town. It’s where the Tallahassee community comes together and visitors from near and far are welcomed to celebrate the excitement of game day weekends. And of course, nothing quite compares to the energy of FAMU Homecoming—an unforgettable celebration of pride, culture, and community!

Living in Tallahassee now is perfect for us—especially on game days when the whole community transforms into a celebration of school spirit, whether it’s Garnet and Gold for FSU or Orange and Green for the FAMU Rattlers! Our tailgate traditions bring family and friends together in the best way. We love firing up the raclette to cook hamburgers and hotdogs, always seasoned with our favorite AAB111 seasoning. My husband keeps things festive by sampling a variety of cold beverages, of course!

One of my favorite parts of game day tailgating? Running into old friends who are back in town for the game. You never know who you’ll see—it’s always such a fun surprise!
