Friendship & Discoveries

As you may now know about me, I consider the people I meet to be some of my life’s greatest blessings!

Atlanta, New York, Chicago, High Point: what do all these cities have in common? Six times a year we get to travel to these amazing places to meet new friends, reunite with old ones and discover new finds to bring home.

Favorite memory from January 2024 - getting together with old friend Sandra Sigman of Les Fleurs.

One of the things I love most about going to market is spending time with our amazing team outside of the day-to-day.

It’s July of 2025 and that finds us in Atlanta buying for our fall and Holiday season. Curious about a day in the life of our week at the Atlanta market? Let me take you along. It begins with an early wake up, drinking two cups of strong coffee, choosing your most comfortable shoes and heading out the door early for the first appointment.

First stop...Jan Barboglio! One of our favorites from Market is this little burrito donkey at the bottom of the table, so adorable!

With our head on a swivel as we wind our way through three 18-story buildings full of the most diverse collection of artisan goods from around the world that include gifts, apparel, kitchen provisions, furniture, lighting, accessories and books, we usually discover something of interest along the way and end up a few minutes late to our planned appointment.

Meeting an admired fellow entrepreneur, Davis Klass with Archipelago

Our gracious brand reps are always so kind to accommodate us. Some we have known for over 10 years! Our visit starts with a quick hug, catching up on life and then diving into new arrivals and best sellers. Each day involves a series of appointments sprinkled in with occasional ‘squirrel’ moments which cause us to detour and explore something new.

So fun visiting with our new friend Kelly with Kew Pottery Botanical Collections!

I've been looking for Halloween decor that fits our simple, modern, classic lifestyle for 10 years...found it!

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” so of course we always schedule a few dinners to treat ourselves to some of Atlanta‘s culinary delights. Some of our favorites include a casual night at Taquiera del Sol where we also make time to visit some of our local favorite shops, such as Sid and Ann Mashburn; Bones for a tasty steak and the best hashbrowns ever, and Delbar for a Mediterranean delight. A home-cooked meal at least one night during the busy week allows us a chance to put our feet up and rest.

A shopping highlight is also the Antique Market- first dibs goes to those who line up early! Our favorite is visiting with Craig Ringstad and picking out new Hermes scarves, Fortuny pillows, and stunning vintage gold bangles.

January market in Atlanta includes the creative process of brainstorming Holiday windows, our Advent calendar themes, and finding unique elements to create them! Next up: NYC for women’s apparel in September!

Cheers!
